Paris is a city much like the city where you live. Only on Friday, Nov.13th for some, it became the gateway to eternity.
It started as a day just like any other. People were going about their day, people just like you. They were doing the very things people do every day. Eating with friends and family in restaurants. Attending a sporting event. Having fun at a concert. Just living their everyday lives…until the terrorist attacked!
It was at that moment horror struck the city of Paris and many innocent people were injured, others were brutally murdered.
Eternity is real, those in Paris who died in the attacks, were not aware this would be their last day on earth. Hopefully, they were prepared for eternity.
What happened in Paris is frightening, yet God tells us in His word not to live in fear. Though we see the horror in the world around us, we can live each day secure when we belong to Jesus.
Most teenagers push aside any conversation about death. The reality is, however, death is a part of life.
As Christians, we need not fear death. Jesus has overcome the grave, and God’s word tells us we will too. (John 11:25-26)
Perhaps you are reading this and you are a young girl who has not yet pondered death or eternity. After all, most teenagers are too busy living life, to consider death.
Death is not a respecter of age, anyone, at any time can enter eternity. Securing your destiny in eternity is important for everyone, even teenagers.
It is humbling to think, perhaps there were some who died in the attacks who will be forever separated from a loving God. Perhaps only, because they thought eternity was far off. What about you? Are you waiting to give your heart to Jesus?
I pray today, as you ponder the tragedy in Paris, you will look to Jesus and accept him as your Lord and Savior. Hopefully, you already have. If you have, don’t get comfortable in your own security while your friends have not yet given their lives to Jesus.
I encourage you TODAY…make a decision to share the truth of the gospel of Jesus with those you know, and help them be prepared for eternity.
I share this tough message with you because I love and care about you. Every day is precious, embrace each day with peace in your heart knowing God loves you and you belong to Him.
Jesus tells us, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace, in this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world”
Join me in Praying for Paris…
